Under difficult condition the internees tried to make life as normal as possible.

Conditions in the detention centers and relocation camps were difficult, but the Japanese Americans tried to make life as normal as possible. Children went to school, played sports, joined Boy Scouts and participated in cultural activities. Weddings were celebrated. Babies were born. Funerals were held. And Christmas memories were made.
