All of our teams continue to race along different paths all across the United States, each team continuing to discover new relatives, each in different locations.
All of the teams have their eyes set on the finish line, this season in an undisclosed location.
At the start of the race five days ago in Washington, D.C., all of our teams surrendered their smart phones and all use of technology in exchange for paper maps and flip phones with no GPS or internet access.
Now they're headed to a new city.
They must take a selfie to prove that they've made it, successfully complete a set of challenges, and discover their new relatives, each within a different allotted time.
The team that goes over their allotted time the most receives a strike.

They must each decipher a random set of identical clues that will reveal the three-digit code to a lock box containing their next set of instructions.
The first clue is to locate three roman numerals that correlate to chapters in the book, Metamorphosis.

Each creature has a unique attribute that represents one number of the code.
Any clue marked with red is an intentional deception, a decoy.
If selected, if will only distract them from discovering the coded creatures.

[pot shatters] Family tree... What kind of tree is that?
I don't know, but there's a red ribbon!

13 was the chapter that was highlighted.
Keep going.
Oh, start at the end.
You are so smart.

Use Ovid's book to decipher the lock."
So it is in here.
"The Roman numerals do not mock.
Use Ovid's book to decipher the lock."
I'm gonna read it one more time.
Rebecca: Okay.
The Roman numerals were important.
But we couldn't figure out why.
I can't think of nothing, man.
Find everything that's highlighted.
The first one is I.
Find the one about Cerberus.
What, does that mean anything to you?
No, none of this makes sense.
It doesn't make any sense.
We got all the clues we needed and we still couldn't figure it out.
Nicole: Right now I feel like jumping into traffic.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, go back.
So we go to chapter 13, and we find the key to one of the riddles.
Right there, hey, look, that matches that.
Dylan: In that chapter we found Cyclops.
Cyclops has one eye.
Really?
Has to be the Cyclops.
One eye, so we found one number.
This is why I enjoy sports center.
"Cerberus, the great dog, filled all air with his threefold howls."
Threefold.
Three.
"Threefold howls."
So we got the three.
Okay, next.
We started to put together that Arachne was associated with spiders.
And Jamie was like, how many legs does a spider have?
Eight.
Eight.
So it's 1, 3, we'll try 8.

Cool.
"Your relative is a nurse.

It's here somewhere, and it says that our relative is a nurse, and now we have to go and find a skeleton.
All right, might not be huge, so let's just go look for it.
Cyclops has one eye.
It finally came to us, a cyclops has one eye, a Cerberus is a three-headed dog, and an Arachne, duh, is a spider.
Eight legs.
1, 3, 8.
[sighs] I feel like we still failed the class.
We failed the class.
But we finished the test.
How about that?
"Your relative is known to her friends as Wonder Woman.
Head to Outer Planes Comics and Games for your next challenge."
Let's go, babe.
It turns out we just weren't actually reading what was highlighted.
Try 1.
It's three heads.
All right, so there's the three.
Three.
Dylan: In the next chapter, we found Arachne.
That's a spider, and how many feet does it-- it has eight, or nine, I don't know.
There's eight.
Put 8.
And 8.
John: We got it.
"Head to the Pumpkintown Opry."
"Your relative writes comedy.
"Go to the corner of South Virginia and St. Lawrence Street."
Jamie: I see a skeleton!
You do?
Yes!
Oh my gosh!
Where?
Jamie: Follow me!
Come, come, come, come, come, come.
"Your relative has been a nurse for 20 years--" Wow.
"Correctly identify ten parts on this skeleton model.
Your allotted time for the day includes ten minutes to complete this challenge."
Okay.
Jamie: So I choose a card, and Morgan has to grab a sticker.
I have to read her what's on the card, and she has to place the sticker at the proper place on the body.
Scapula.
That's a word.
Scalp?
That's gotta be up there.
Okay, I'm sticking with this head thing.
Whether she's right or wrong, we have to swap after three tries and keep going until we get ten complete.
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
Come on, babe.
Nicole: We walk into Outer Planes Comics.
Hi!
Hi, I'm Dan.
Welcome to Outer Planes.
There's your next challenge.
"As you might have guessed, this is a super hero test.
"Once you correctly identify three, "you're off to your next member of your family tree.
"Your allotted time for the day includes 20 minutes to complete this challenge."
We were given three clues.

Nicole: We had to find either a book, a figurine, anything with it on it, and we got a new clue every 60 seconds.
Okay.
Go get it, go.
Here's your second clue.
"Red, white and blue; this hero fought in World War II."
Captain America.
Boom.
Captain America, right off the bat.
Is this the right person?
That's the right one.
Next one, next one.
And if we guess three right, we were done.
Hey, hello there.
Welcome to the Pumpkintown Mountain Opry.
Your Pumpkintown relative is quite the filmmaker.
Select a pumpkin, and carve it to see if it contains your relative's address.
Michael: If we chose wrong, we had to clean out the pumpkin and carve out the shape on the pumpkin.
Okay.
All right.
Grab the envelope, babe.
Get it out.
Hurry.
"Your relative loves to make people laugh.
"Choose from ten joke cards.

That's gotta be Superman, Man of Steel.
Lasers and steel, and Superman, just like that came into my mind, and I ran to the back of the store.

Dan: In Pumpkintown, South Carolina, Team Blue, Michael and Dylan, must randomly select a pumpkin in hopes of finding the one that contains their relative's address.
Micheal: If we chose wrong, we had to clean out the pumpkin, and carve out the shape on the pumpkin.
I think filmmaker, I immediately think that, but that seems too easy.
No, they're all filmmaker.
I know, I know, but that's-- As we choose our first pumpkin, my gut is saying, choose the one with the camera shape on it, because our relative's a filmmaker.
Filmmaker uses a camera.
Michael: Pick one.
Dylan: Yeah, that's-- Sure.
All right.
But of course, my dad selects a different one.
Nope.
There's nothing, so we've got to clean it out.
Come on.
Carving pumpkins was just time-consuming.
It was pick, hope, and carve.
Michael: It was just luck of the draw.

We finally get to the pumpkin that I suggested at the start of the challenge.
Bingo.
You've gotta be kidding me.
Michael: After the second challenge-- Dylan: There was nothing.
Like, we were done.
Turn left.
Got it.
We have to go back down 8.
Go, go, go, green, green, green.
Okay.
As we start heading to our relative's house, I know we're gonna need help with directions.
Excuse me, sir?
Would you happen to know where Orchard Lane is at?
I'm looking for this address right here.
So we pull over to the side of the road and I asked a random guy, and he told us exactly where we needed to go.
Okay.
How far?
Right up the road.
Okay, we'll go there.
Thank you!
Man 1: No problem!
Yes, a fire station!
Are they even open?
They have to be open, but they can't all be gone.
There are still fire trucks here.
I'm knocking over by the firetrucks.
Jamie's knocking on the door, and we're like, hello, anyone in here?
And then the moment we were about to give up, the door opened.
Hi, hello.
So we thought we had this grand game plan with fire stations.
Oh, we just ask to be taken to the big maps on the wall.
But this fire station does not have the big wall maps.
Yeah, so they had a binder with lots of little maps, so right now, I'm just thinking we're never gonna get here.
There was also some handsomeness that was happening, I was a little confused, and I was like, focus, focus, focus, focus.
Morgan: We might have to stop going to fire stations-- No, we don't.
--for the single lady in the group.
That might be a good-- I think we're doing the right thing.
[laughs] Thank you so much.
Thank you for your service.
Thank you, thank you so much.
I got the directions from him, I confirmed it with him, and we ran out the door and hopped on the highway.
What does a lobotomy and being in love have in common?
They both make you lose your mind.
[laughter] Nice, perfect.
Thank you very much.
You guys have a good day, okay?
Go.
Okay.
Come on.
John: "Your relative lives at 3165 Socrates Drive."
Okay, let's go.
Today's challenges took us much longer than we planned.
But hopefully we can use that five minutes of GPS to regain some of our time.
All right, they said we'd have a GPS in here.
Here's a phone.
I'll drive.
You navigate, okay?
Let's go.
Here we go, here we go.
I think this is gonna be our saving grace if-- Oh, if there is one.
[GPS voice] Use the middle lane to turn left-- And we're gonna take this for 1.1 miles.
Nicole: There's no sign yet.
Oh gosh.
Troy: Be Orchard, baby, be Orchard.
There it is.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
Oh, there's one woman.
Come on, let's go, let's go.
Hi!
Hi!
Are you our relative?
We are.
All right, let's take care of some business.
Let's take a selfie.
One, two, three.
[camera shutter clicks] Nicole: We gotta send it, and then we'll figure out who you are.
Okay.
[laughter] Troy: All right, got 'em.
Dan: Team Red, Troy and Nicole, are the first to arrive at their relative's home, coming in 38 minutes over their allotted time for the day.
Their clock is now stopped.
You're Troy!
I am Troy!
I've heard a lot about you.
All right!
Well, I guess you're my relative?
Yes.

Just pull in the street.

This is it.
Okay, let's go, let's go.

Hi, how are you?
I'm Jamie, hi.
Nice to meet you.
Hi, I'm Morgan.
Are you our relative?
I am.
Hi!
Can we take a picture with you?
Sure, yes.
Is that okay?
All right.
One, two, three.
[camera shutter clicks] Okay, let's see.
Oh, yay, all three of us are in it.
Perfect.
Okay.
I'm sending it.
Dan: Team Green, Morgan and Jamie, are the second team to find their relative.
Their clock is now stopped at 57 minutes over their allotted time, but clocks are still ticking for the two remaining teams.
Know what road we're on?
No.
Okay.
Just riding around aimlessly.
We didn't-- I didn't know where I was going.
John: It's 3175 so it's gonna be like two down on the right hand side.
John: We get to use five minutes of GPS, and while we're following the directions, I'm writing down turn by turn directions with mileage so we know exactly how to get to the house.
GPS is off.
Okay, off, down.
Rebecca: I thought for sure today was either a strike, or at least third place.
Dylan: Right there, I see it.
Michael: Yup.
You're gonna pull in to that fire station right there.
Okey-dokey.
We pull up to the fire station for help to find this address.
We need your help.
They pull up the county maps.
Really?
This location is not even in the fire department's maps.
It's not in your maps.
I don't know what to do then.
It's not here.
It was done.
We were done.
We just wanted the day over.
Dan: It's Day 5 of the race.
Team Red and Team Green have both arrived at their relatives' homes.
We're your first cousins.
Both of you?
Yeah, both of us.
Are you our relative?
I am.
Hi!
Dan: Team Blue and Team Black have their clock still ticking as they search for their relatives.
John: So our five minutes of GPS is up, and we had to shut down the phone.
GPS is off.
Off, down.
Put it down.
John: But we're really close to our destination, so it really helped us out.
It's not in your maps.
We just wanted the day over.
But thankfully, the firemen there called their captain, and he helped direct us to where we needed to go, eventually.
John: So it should be this next one right here.
This one right here?
Yeah, right here.
Rebecca: Okay, I'm pulling in, oh my.
John: Okay, you ready?
Rebecca: Okay.
Dylan: You said one?
One!
That's it!
Got it.
This thing is sweet!
Hi, we're the Hoyts.

Rebecca: Send it, send it.
John: Thank you.
[intense music] Dan: Team Blue and Team Black have found their relatives.
All teams have now clocked in for Day 5, and all clocks are now stopped.
Rebecca: Awesome!
Hi, I'm Rebecca.
I'm Shellie.
Shellie?
I'm John.
I'm Madison.
Madison, hi!
And whose relatives are you guys?

I'm 49.
I'm a licensed professional counselor, and I am Johnathan's cousin.
Rebecca: Both of you guys are, or just you?
Well, she's my oldest daughter.
Oh.
John: This is the first time, besides meeting Troy on Day 1, that I've had a relative, and it was an awesome experience.
Rebecca: Exciting.
Rebecca: I love the black shirts, guys!
Shellie: Oh yeah, Team Black.
Man 2: Well, welcome, cousin!
Hey!
Cousin, come here, you.
How are you?
I'm good, I'm good.
I'm Rick Smith.
I'm Jeanne Smith.
And I'm a retired television producer, and Michael and Dylan are my cousins.
Father's side or mother's side?
Father's side.
Langford.
Okay.
Yeah, so we got lots to talk about.
Michael: I'm looking forward to it.
We've got supper on, ready to go for you.
Sounds like a plan.
Let's go.
Rick: Even though I knew that they were physically and emotionally tired, it changed everything when I saw them.
I think his demeanor changed as well, you know, just excited to see blood family.
Michael: No matter how bad of a day we've had, it doesn't matter, because at the end of the day, it's family time.
So... Where do we start?
Rick: Yeah, boy.
Michael: Come to find out, he's adopted too.
So we have some similarities.
How much of your family do you know?
Now?
Rick: Yes, sir.
I met my father.
[gasps] On this race?
Rick: I'm very ecstatic that Michael was able to meet his father.
I wished I had, because there are so many unanswered questions that I wish I could answer.
Michael: He didn't have a chance to meet his father before his father passed.
I feel bad about that.
I've been blessed to be able to do that, but to actually meet another family member, blood relative, that was adopted, just like I was?
He knows exactly how it feels.
All the barriers fall down.
There's something within that.
There is this instant bond.
There was this blood kinship, throughout just starting our journey as family.
Dan: In Santa Rosa, California, Team Red, Troy and Nicole, are learning more about their relatinship with Troy's first cousins.
This is awesome.
I'm here, I'm real.
I'm real.
She really wanted to meet you.
She's big on family, so...
Troy: We get a lot of time to catch up tonight.
Trish: So, my name is Patricia Belle.
I go by Trish.
I'm Terri Gerome.
I am a medical biller for a nephrologist.
And I work at the post office.
And we are Troy's first cousins.
Our grandmother apparently gave up your dad when he was born, and so, we didn't even know about you at all.
Your grandmother's Leanne?
Yeah, Lina.
Lina.
Yeah.
I learned about her last night.
Yeah.
Troy: They didn't know I existed because their grandmother never told them about my dad, which was technically their dad's half-brother.
Then there's no way they would ever find out about me, and so that was the void.
And you look like my dad.
You really do.
Trish: I actually apologized several times.
I'm like, I'm sorry, I'm just gonna keep staring at you because you're like my dad.
You have my dad's eyes.
Troy: Earlier today the card leading to our second challenge said my relative's nickname was Wonder Woman, so I had to ask.
So who's Wonder Woman?
I'm Wonder Woman.
Can't you tell?
Yes!
Hello.
Okay, so the whole Wonder Woman thing.
I have several Wonder Woman costumes, and you know, my husband's a professional wrestler, and our daughter is a theatre major, so we're really extroverts, and we do a lot of costuming type things.
I've got something really cool I'm gonna share with y'all later.
Okay.
Well, we have something cool too, but-- You got something cool?
Yeah.
Okay.
[laughing] Inside, let's go inside and check it out.
Dan: In Montgomery, Alabama, Team Green, Jamie and Morgan, have also discovered that they too have more cousins.
Threesa: I'm Theresa Taylor.
I am a nurse, for 25 years now, and I'm Jamie and Morgan's cousin.
Theresa is our cousin through our Harper line, which is our dad's side of the family.
Meet my cousin.
This is my cousin, Brenda.
Hi, nice to meet you.
I'm Morgan.
Morgan: It's so funny, because it's like, we keep meeting white relatives!
[laughing] And it's awesome.
It doesn't get old.
It's a surprise every time.
Okay, so I was a music major before I was ever a nurse.
Jamie: Oh wow, okay.
Got my Master's in music.
Yeah.
And I taught school for music.
Jamie: We were really excited when we realized that Theresa loved music, and we didn't really know the full extent until we all got together on the couch and sang "Amazing Grace" together.
♪ T'was grace that taught my heart to fear ♪ ♪ And grace, my fears relieved ♪ ♪ How precious did that grace appear ♪ ♪ The hour I first believed ♪ Oh, that was so beautiful!
Oh my goodness!
I love your voice!
Morgan: We travel with musicians all the time, and sometimes, what we just did, you can't pull that off with people that you've been on the road with for months.
And it was just like we've been singing together all our lives.
It really-- To me, that's what it sounded like, you know.
But I was just enjoying it.
Girls, y'all got it.
Y'all got it.
Jamie: That's been my favorite song since I was a little girl.
Dan: Back in Reno, Nevada, Johnathan, from Team Black, gets to sit down for the first time on the race with relatives from his side of the family tree, his cousin Shellie, and her daughter, Madison.
They're both super outgoing, energetic people, and they're into comedy.
She's the comedian in the family.
Rebecca: You are?
Yes, that's me.
Did you write the jokes for our challenge?
Madison: I did.
Ha-ha.
Oh boy.
These-- these here?
So we opened the joke book, and the jokes are cornier than a corn dog, I'm telling you.
So, did you like my jokes?
Okay, well, I didn't like those jokes out there because I couldn't pull them off, but she does.
I liked them, but I couldn't tell them worth beans.
[laughing] John: After sharing some laughs about the joke challenge from earlier, Shellie and I get a chance to sit down and really discuss how her and I are related.
We are cousins on my dad's side.
And my father has done a ton of work on our family tree, and so it's exciting to meet a new relative that I can share all this information with.
His dad can probably help you a lot, because he's got a lot, and he's good at the research too.
Yeah, that would be awesome.
It's interesting.
My biological father, that I never got to meet, was a professional photographer in Las Vegas.
That's awesome.
Then I started in photography, but then to find out that you, not only were adopted, but that you're a professional photographer-- Michael: I am.
Rick: --and your son.
Michael: I'm teaching him.
Rick: Yeah.
Where I wasn't able to do that.
You know, my father passed away long before I got to know him, so I just think it's remarkable These are some of the shots that he took.
I think that's Minnie Pearl.
Michael: That is Minnie Pearl.
Rick: Yup.
Then this was my mom here, that I never got to meet.
Troy: Before we started the show, I was just really in the dark, and now we're just getting closer and closer to the core, to that lineage.
So my dad is technically your dad's half-brother.
I didn't know any of this until you came into the picture, so I'm still trying to figure out where everybody is.
Unlike the previous days, I have something to add to the conversation.
And I'm taking the information I get through this journey, and able to fill in some blanks for them.
Theresa: You kind of realize that there is a-- something bigger in this world that has brought us together.
You know, there's a connection.
Morgan: The fact that that keeps happening every single day, it makes this race so worth it, and we're so grateful for that experience.
Well, this is-- This is what I do.
Rick: That's spectacular.
Michael: And I like to have fun.
I love to play with light.
Rick: Yeah.
Aw, that's pretty.
Michael: This is my community.
Dale Earnhardt-- I shoot Nascar.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., pit stop.
It's like talking to somebody you've known for ten years already.
It's like a chapter is closing and a new chapter is starting, and that's what I love about it.
Michael: Same thing with me with this whole process.
I mean, I had nobody, and now I've got all these people.
That's right, and you're always welcome here, so-- Thank you.
Absolutely.
John: After learning a little bit more about Shellie and Madison, they tell us that they have a special activity for us.
We surprised Rebecca and Johnathan, and we told them that we are going to take them to a comedy club, since it's our thing.
[jazzy music] I don't think we've actually ever been to a comedy show.
Oh, really?
This will be fun.
Shellie: They're all different.
You just never know.
[jazzy music] [jazzy music] Rebecca: We're gonna go to a comedy show in Reno.
John: We're not sure what to expect.
We've never been to a comedy show before.
Emcee: Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for Madison Gerrel, everybody!
[applause] John: Madison walks out.
Rebecca: She is the show.
Yes.
That was surprising.
[laughter] I know.
[laughter] A little about me.
I'm 23, and I'm the oldest of four.
But, I'm the only biological child.
The rest of them are adopted.
You know, some families, they enjoy doing things together, such as, you know, board games or tennis, or even refurbishing old furniture.
Well, my family, we enjoy collecting other people's children.
[laughter] But we play other games too.
We put our own spin on them though.
We Have No Clue, I'm Sorry, and That's Just life.
But our favorite is Who's Your Daddy.
[laughter] [applause] She was amazing.
She was really good.
So good.
Dan: While laughter fills the air in Reno, Troy's cousin, Wonder Woman, has a surprise.
Um, we had this made for you.
We had a picture of you-- You had something made for me?
Yeah.
I can open this?
Yes, you can open it.
Is that the right way?
[laughs] Oh, get out of here!
Aw, yeah!
So I'd like to introduce to you the Incredible Hitts.
Nicole: Look how good I look.
A lot of it's accurate.
My abs are right on point.
Look at you, smokin' red hot!
Nicole: I mean, come on now!
Troy: It captured our personalities.
Nicole: And obviously our physique.
Troy: And our physique, which is probablly the most accurate depiction.
This reaction right here would probably be the equivalent to our reaction when we hoist the $50,000 check.
[dramatic music] Dan: "Relative Race" Day 5 is coming to a close.
Allotted and actual times are being calculated.
With all four teams carrying a strike, who is one step closer to Day 10, and who will receive another strike?
I'm looking at all four teams, and we are halfway through "Relative Race."
This is Day 5, and it has been a challenging one for each and every one of you, and it begins with, really, that first challenge.
You all struggled with it.
Were you surprised by that struggle, Team Black?
Rebecca: Yes.
I did not think that we would meet our match on a challenge, but we met our match.
Well, you chose five minutes of GPS time yesterday.
Without the five minutes of GPS time, how long do you think it would have taken you to find your relative today?
John: Reno is pretty large, and without that GPS, it could've taken all day.
And that five minutes of GPS time brought us right to their house.
Golden.
So, it might've saved you 20 or 25 minutes, it sounds like.
At least 20 to 25 minutes.
We're gonna find out if that helped you, and saved you in the end.
Let's talk to the father and son duo, Michael and Dylan.
You started off well, and then you hit not only the first challenge, but the second challenge.
This was truly a challenging day for you guys.
Michael: If this wasn't the worst day in "Relative Race" history for a team, I don't know what could've been worse.
The only thing we didn't do was wreck the car.
[laughter] Nicole: Aww.
I can personally tell you that I'm very grateful for that.
[laughter] But at the end of the day, you met a relative, that like yourself, Michael, was adopted.
Yes.
And so, did you have so much to relate to, very quickly, very early?
Absolutely.
Same questions, same types of things that we've always wanted to know.
We were both adopted at birth.
He didn't get a chance to meet his father.
I can relate to that, as Team Red can too.
But yeah, it's been instant connection.
Knowing that he was adopted like I was... Just instant connection.
Absolutely.
And Troy, for you, you not only met one cousin, you met two cousins.
These are first cousins.
I think it's fair to say that you have probably discovered more about your family in the last five days than you have in your entire life.
Troy: Absolutely.
To get two cousins, two first cousins, on the end of this trip, is fantastic, and one of them's name is Wonder Woman.
[chuckling] Wonder Woman?
Yes.
Dan: I want to turn my attention to Jamie and Morgan.
Well, I can tell you this right now, that on the first challenge, the two of you did better than the other teams.
It's 'cause we're nerds!
In something.
Jamie: In something.
The immediate game day benefit for tomorrow is to skip your first challenge completely.
After a day like today, that sounds pretty good, I'm pretty sure.
Well, it's time to find out who finished in first, and who receives a strike.
[suspenseful music] Well, you all had your challenges, but that GPS saved you and launched you into a first-place win, because without it, without it, you would've finished in third or last.
Wow.
Dan: With it, you are in first place by a mere four minutes.
You came in 34 minutes over your allotted time.
Second, at 38 minutes over their allotted time...
Troy and Nicole.
[cheering] [chuckling] Rebecca: Way to go, guys.
Way to go.
Dan: Finishing in third place tonight, 57 minutes over their allotted time, it's a good thing you know a little bit about lock box mysteries, because you finished in third place.
And 1 hour and 24 minutes over your allotted time, Michael and Dylan, I'm sorry to say you have received your second strike.
Oh, we knew it was coming.
We knew we was getting a strike.
We had already accepted it, so it wasn't a surprise.
Dan: I turn my attention back to Team Black.
You have a choice to make.
You finished in first.
What will you choose?
To skip your first challenge completely tomorrow, or a Day 10 benefit, that will only help you if you make it to Day 10?
What's your decision?
Well, Dan, we're actually kind of nervous about making it to Day 10 because the competition is good.
So we're going to skip our challenge tomorrow.
What competition?
[laughs] You will be able to skip your first challenge tomorrow.
Will that be enough to keep you from receiving your second strike?
It's really hard for them to keep getting the game day advantage, because we are right there, and we're right there with no advantage.
We're right there.
Dan: Team Red, Team Black, and Team Green, you all have one strike.
Mike and Dylan, as you know, you have received your second strike.
One more, and you'll be leaving the race, so work together as a father and son only can.
Nobody else has that advantage in this race.
Everyone, this is the reality of "Relative Race."
The challenges, the obstacles, the roads, but ultimately, those roads and those challenges all lead you to another relative, and that's what this is all about.
Get some good rest.
Good luck, good night, and we'll see you tomorrow.
Rebecca: Good night, everyone!
Yeah!
That's awesome!
Yeah!
So cool!
Bye, guys!
[sigh of relief] Four out of five.
Wow.
I don't know how this happened.
Dan: Here are the official results for Day 5.
With their fourth first-place finish in five days, Team Black, John and Rebecca, finished 34 minutes over their allotted time.
In second place, Team Red, Troy and Nicole, 38 minutes over their allotted time.
Second place!
[laughing] Dan: Team Green, Jamie and Morgan, in third place, 57 minutes over.
We didn't get a strike!
We didn't get a strike.
That's good.
Dan: And coming in 1 hour and 24 minutes over their allotted time, Team Blue, Michael and Dylan, have received their second strike.
I hate Team Black.
Yeah, I'm not-- How do they keep winning?
That's crazy.
I feel so humbled right now.
John: I am so glad that we took that GPS benefit, because there's no way that we would have made it.
Not what you were expecting though, was it?
John: No, not even close.
I don't know.
Today, it just-- It just wasn't our day.
Nope.
That's okay.
Just one day, we're still in it.
We're trying to beat Team Red.
That's where we're trying to go.
And we have to keep Team Blue in the game.
Yeah.
Anybody can falter at any time.
I mean, they could get strikes the next two days and they're gone.
So it wouldn't matter if they won four days or no days.
I texted Team Black after the Skype call today, and I basically said, not even with GPS, you can't stop us from being right on your heels.
I said, nice job, but we're still coming.
