My name is Jennifer Rymanowski, and I am a licensed behavior analyst who works for Rochester.
Hearing and Speech Center.
What my role is, is I work with children from the age of four through five within our applied and heavier analysis program.
The path to becoming a licensed behavior analyst can vary depending on the person's interests.
You can use ABA over a number of different areas.
I use it working with children with autism.
It can be used across a number of different fields.
If you're interested in behavior analysis, so how the world affects our behavior and how we can change things within our environment to then influence and change behavior.
First, you have to think about what areas within the world that you're most interested in working in.
For me, I was more interested in education, and that brought me to looking at what are the educational needs of kids.
There are some kids.
They have some very significant needs that impact their ability to learn.
And that's where I came to.
You know, to to autism.
Autism is a developmental disorder that can affect a number of different areas and our in our development.
A person with autism wants to be there and to engage and to be included.
It's just the way that you go about it might be a little bit different than, you know, with another person.
A person with autism may have trouble reading social cues.
It's very different.
We have much better understanding of what autism is, but we still have a lot to learn about them.
Do I like you?
Yeah.
