Clarinetist Don Byron has demonstrated some traditional jazz roots and explored the Latin and Afro-Cuban legacies. Now, with Ivey-Divey, he consolidates it all into a recording that tells of the music's past, present, and possible future. With piano wunderkind Jason Moran and drummer Jack DeJohnette, Byron pays homage to the similarly bass-less trio of Lestor Young, Nat King Cole, and Buddy Rich.
